SanDisk Debuts Trio of Storage Products

Storage provider SanDisk Corp. today announced three new mobile storage products. The first, the Connect Wireless Stick (picture above), is a wireless mobile flash drive that enables sharing, transferring and accessing of photos and videos between mobile devices and computers.

The 128 GB capacity drive works with smartphones, tablets and computers. It lets users wirelessly access media or transfer large files, save and share photos and videos, or stream HD videos and music to and from up to three mobile devices at a time.

The drive can support a single stream for up to four and a half hours on one charge and has a USB connector. It comes in capacities of 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB with prices ranging from $29.99-$99.99.

Embedded Flash Drive

Also announced by SanDisk was the iNAND 7232 storage product, an embedded flash drive available in capacities up to 128 GB. SanDisk said the iNAND 7232 is its fastest embedded flash storage device, with sequential write speeds of up to 150 MB/s2. SanDisk said the 7232EUs sequential write speed can further increase to 1.2 gigabits per second and beyond depending on application performance, making it suited to 4K Ultra HD video capture, downloading via 802.11ac/802.11ad and RAW photography capture.

The 7232 enables mobile OEMs to deliver robust storage for mobile users, said Christopher Bergey, SanDiskEUs vice president and general manager of mobile and tablet solutions. He said the iNAND 7232 contains application-level storage architecture and 15-nanometer flash storage technology to enable HD video capture and digital photography never before possible in flagship smartphones. The 15-nanometer 3-bit-per-cell NAND flash storage is the most advanced NAND flash process node in the world, according to SanDisk.

The iNAND 7232 has SanDiskEUs second-generation SmartSLC technology, a new storage architecture that quickly and intelligently responds to the needs of...
