Samsung Galaxy S6 Actually Feels Like a Flagship Phone

Earlier this month, when Samsung offered a sneak peak of its Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones at the Mobile World Congress, it promised flagship devices that would blend premium materials with advanced technology in a whole new way. With both Galaxy phones set for release on April 10, the question is: how well do they deliver?

One analyst who is already using the Galaxy S6 told us he's pretty impressed with what he's seen so far.

"This is a really nice phone. The display is spectacular. It is incredibly high resolution," Avi Greengart, an analyst at Current Analysis, told us. The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are crafted from metal and glass and the S6 edge offers a curved display on both sides, a first in the mobile industry. The smartphones carry Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and are available in five different colors: white, black, gold platinum, blue topaz, and green emerald. The 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen offers users the highest-ever pixel density of 577ppi.

Camera May Rival the iPhone

Both devices carry a front and rear camera with an F1.9 lense and high-resolution sensors. Technologies like Auto Real-Time High Dynamic Range, Smart Optical Image Stabilization, and IR Detect White Balance have improved the cameras, according to Greengart.

"My early test with the camera is very good. It may rival the iPhone, which sets the standard for mobile cameras -- and may even exceed it in some ways," said Greengart, who was talking to me from a Galaxy...
