Samsung Announces New Galaxy Tab S2

South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics today announced the Galaxy Tab S2, a tablet the company said is the most immersive Samsung tablet yet made. The new Galaxy tablet, which will be released next month, comes with a Super AMOLED display and is contained within the thinnest (5.6mm) and lightest (about 9 ounces to 14 ounces, depending on the model) metal frame of its size.

Samsung said the Super AMOLED display with 2,048x1,536 resolution makes the Galaxy Tab S2 perfectly designed for reading and consuming content, including e-books, magazines, Web pages and newsfeeds without unnecessary scrolling.

The tablet comes pre-loaded with anti-malware protection software, a fingerprint scanner, and a Microsoft Office Solutions suite that includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab S2 runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and an octa-core (1.9 GHz + 1.3 GHz) processor. It also comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2.1-megapixel front shooter, 3 GB RAM and a 5,870mAh battery.
