Qualcomm’s Next-Gen Snapdragons To Super Power Mobile Devices

Chipmaker Qualcomm just unveiled its next-generation mobile processors for its popular Snapdragon 800 line. The Snapdragon 810 and 808 processors aim to deliver connected mobile computing with the power to serve up high-quality video, imaging and graphics.

The new Snapdragons are QualcommEUs highest performing processors ever. The chips complete the companyEUs lineup of 64-bit enabled, LTE-equipped chipsets. Some of the most compelling features of the Snapdragon 810 and 800 include the promise of seamless connectivity and power efficiency for smartphones and tablets.

Cat 6 Power

The Snapdragon 810 and 808 processors both integrate QualcommEUs 4th Generation Cat 6 LTE Advanced multimode modem and offer support for the Qualcomm RF360 Front End Solution and 3x20MHz Carrier Aggregation. That combination makes possible speeds of up to 300 Mbps.

Designed in 20nm technology node with Cat 6 LTE, both processors offer advanced multimedia features and 64-bit capability that is integrated and optimized for low power consumption without sacrificing performance. Qualcomm said its new 64-bit processors are the first to enable LTE Advanced globally in a single design.

The company isnEUt resting on its laurels, though. Qualcomm hinted at EUcontinued developmentEU of its own next-generation custom 64-bit CPU microarchitecture and plans to share more details later in 2014.

Meet the New Adreno 430

The Snapdragon 810 processor supports rich native 4K Ultra HD interface and video and an upgraded camera suite that taps 3D noise reduction and gyro-stabilization. The processorEUs 14-bit dual Image Signal Processors (ISPs) can support 1.2GP/s throughput and image sensors up to 55MP.
