Logitech Launches MX Master Mouse with Darkfield Laser

Computer accessories provider Logitech on Tuesday announced the launch of the MX Master Wireless Mouse, bringing together elements of the companyEUs past innovations in mouse design, according to the company. The MX Master follows on the heels of the company's previous MX Revolution and Performance MX mice.

The shape of the MX Master is designed to support the userEUs hand and wrist in a natural position. It also sports a speed-adaptive scroll wheel that lets users auto-shift from click-to-click to hyper-fast scrolling, as well as a thumbwheel for side-to-side scrolling and page switching.

Windows or Mac

The mouse can connect to a Windows or Mac computer via LogitechEUs Unifying Receiver (which is included) or Bluetooth Smart technology. The mouse can be paired with up to three devices, meaning users can put the mouse to work on a desktop, laptop, and tablet. For Mac users, the gesture button can imitate two- and three-finger gestures that users normally would only make with the trackpad.

The mouse's Easy-Switch button lets users switch between each device, and the mouse also has a button that can be customized to replicate gesture controls on Mac computers. Also, the Darkļ¬eld laser offers enhanced tracking on a wide variety of surfaces.

Both optical and traditional laser mice use irregularities on the surface to track the direction and speed of the mouse movements.
