Galaxy S9 Could Bring Fastest Download Speeds Ever

If the Galaxy S8 is expected to outperform the Galaxy Note 7, then imagine what the Galaxy S9 will be capable of doing. Just recently, Qualcomm announced its 5G modem, naming it the Snapdragon X50, and stated that it would bring unprecedented download speeds to smartphones and tablets sporting the new cellular modems.

According to the latest source, it claims that both the Galaxy S9 and LG G7 are going to be sporting the new Snapdragon chipsets, and embedded within the chipset is going to the most powerful cellular modem known to the public.

Qualcomm has stated that it would bringing its Snapdragon X50 during 2018, which is the same year when both Galaxy S9 and LG G7 are going to be announced. If both Samsung and LG follow the same announcement schedules, then it looks like we?EU?ll be seeing both smartphones getting announced during the MWC 2018 event. At that time, perhaps the company could do us a little favor and show the maximum downloading speeds of the modem.

According to Qualcomm, the maximum download speeds of its Snapdragon X50 is 5Gbps, or 480MB/s. In comparison, this is the same type of speeds that you see in the USB 3.0 interface, but just like this interface, the 5G modem will have downloading limitations. Naturally, it will depend on your carrier to determine what sort of speeds you will be able to see, but we can say with unnerved confidence that it will wipe the floor with the LTE standard.

Since the next generation Snapdragon chipset is going to be made on a better FinFET architecture, the embedded Snapdragon X50 cellular modem could be more efficient, conserving battery life to a much greater degree compared to its predecessors. While there?EU?s scarcely enough information about Galaxy S8, it is not a good idea to...
